Orkustofnun Library

Orkustofnun Library is a research library owned and runned by the National Energy Authority.

It offers personel at the National Energy Authority, Iceland Geosurvey, and United Nations University Geothermal Training Programme students, access to information and sources concerning research, study and teaching.

The library is open to the general public, although library material is only for use on site.

Subjects covered are energy research and development. Geothermal energy and hydropower and earth sciences. A large share of the library holding is not found in other libraries.

The library´s collection is about 20000 titles and consist mainly of reports published by National Energy Authority (OS) and Iceland Geosurvey (ÍSOR).

Reports and yearbooks from UNU-GTP. Reprints of articles by staff of from the institutions. Books, doctoral thesis, conference proceedings and reports from other publishers.

Opening hours: 9:00 – 16:00 Monday - Friday
