The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) and the University of Bergen have acquired geological material from steep parts of the seabed on the Jan Mayen Ridge. Data was acquired from both the Icelandic and Norwegian sides of the ridge.
The National Energy Authority of Iceland (NEA), has today, announced the second Licensing Round for hydrocarbon exploration and production licences on the Icelandic Continental Shelf. The offer will be open from 3 October 2011 until 2 April 2012.

The opening date of Second Licensing Round for Exploration and Production Licenses in the Dreki Area, Northeast of Iceland has been postponed until 3 October 2011. The new deadline for applications will be 2 April 2012.
