Specialist/project manager in monitoring and surveillance of exploration and production of hydrocarbons

Orkustofnun, the national energy authority of Iceland, advertises the position of a specialist/project manager in monitoring and surveillance of exploration and production of hydrocarbons.

Main tasks:

·      Organize and execute monitoring and surveillance of prospecting, exploration and production of oil and gas.

·      Build a contact network with cooperating administrative agencies, work toward coordination and distributing tasks according to valid laws and regulations.

·      Keep a record of required plans for companies involved in prospecting, exploration and production, organize reviews, monitoring and surveillance in cooperation with other administrative agencies, foreign partners and, as required contracted consultants.

·      Keep up to date with technological advances and changes in demands for operators concerning health, safety and environment.


Qualifications:

·      MSc. in Engineering.

·      Additional education in the field of petroleum engineering beneficial.

·      Three year work experience beneficial.

·      Fluency in Icelandic and English and good human relations skills.


Salary paid in accordance with agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the appropriate trade union.
